When I was at the talk about mobile apps I was expecting more about how to create them and what software was out there to use but I didn't really get any of this. I did learn ways to save space and learn that many companies look at mobile apps first before looking at online. Another talk similar to this was the one titled 'ME ME ME' from the title I should have guessed that it would have been very braggy but I didn't expect it to be as much as that, I learnt very little from this man apart from the best ways to get jobs are to be cheeky apply for jobs that you probably have no chance with and to lie and say you can do things you cant and then go away and learn them in the night so that know one finds out you cant do anything. I think that its good to learn new things and to not tell people you cant do certain things but I didn't really get any inspiration from these two talks.
I really like the talk about how not to be a designer, I liked how even though he was showing us his work he was still telling us how he came to the end product, I really liked his the work he did for the national gallery museum, he knew that images where important to the museum and all he did was twist what first thought of and ended up with a text piece rather than pictures of pictures.
I also really loved the idea of taking the images out to the streets and putting them on display for the public to just walk past and see them.
Another talk I really enjoyed was design illustration in publishing, I was interested in going into book publishing and seeing some of the ideas I really liked the vintage tea party one, even though it was a cook book it didn't look like it would be, this would have stood out from the other books and the fact that the cover had key holes it made the book more interactive for the viewer.
Its only since we where given the starpacks brief I though about going into product design and even though I liked the talk done by peter hatherway I don't think I took as much in as I could of now purely because I was thinking of going into publishing. I liked the egg ramp and, the idea was simply because he had chickens showing that ideas can come from the strangest places, I would like to have a talk from him again especially now I have a bit of an interest of product design.
